The job of a pharmacist is to advise customers on their medication. Pharmacists spend a lot of time collecting medication. How practical it would be if the medication came to the pharmacist rather than the pharmacist coming to the medication.

The medication dispenser from Qx Robotics was developed precisely for this purpose. There are already a number of medication dispensing solutions. These solutions are often very expensive and unaffordable for many smaller pharmacies.

Qx Robotics is focussing on this sector. The main goal is to reduce the amount of time pharmacists spend picking up medicines. Qx Robotics has developed a solution that brings medicines to the pharmacist. Qx Robotics' medication dispenser, the Qx-Dextron, is a cost-effective tabletop device that can dispense both medication strips (blisters, aluminium-aluminium, etc.) and medication boxes.

In contrast to conventional automation solutions for pharmacies, which can only dispense boxes, the Qx-Dextron can also dispense more difficult-to-handle products such as medicine push-through packs (aluminium-aluminium) thanks to its innovative design. The actuation system of the Qx-Dextron is based on an XYZ gantry system from igus.

The advantages of the Qx-Dextron are manifold:

  • Accelerated output The product can speed up dispensing and reduce the time required to dispense medication to less than a third of the conventional process.

  • Cost efficiency Thanks to the cost-effective automation system, the Qx-Dextron can pay for itself in the pharmacy within a year.

  • Energy efficiency The customised electronics of the Dextron make it energy efficient. The average power consumption of the Qx-Dextron is less than 1 kWh per day.

  • Customisability and space saving The dimensions of the product can be customised. The system is also stackable and space-saving.

With the Qx-Dextron, pharmacists can spend more time with their customers and increase the efficiency of their work at the same time.
